ELUSIVE ELECTRICITY

Exhibited at the Royal College of Art (RCA) London, 2011

Elusive Electricity is a commentary in the form of a neon installation featuring the words “Ejet, Ejet” – Arabic for “it came, it came.” It refers to the erratic, interruptive nature of electricity in Lebanon.

As one approaches the work, the light flickers, dims, buzzes, and ultimately pops, embodying the experience of not having a dependable power supply in Lebanon.

In collaboration with Ayah Bdeir + Bassam Jalgha.
