AUDIO BLASTIN’ BLAZER

The Audio Blastin’ Blazer is a stylish way to experience music. Using Arduino + Processing, this physical interface disrupts common systems of audio engagement by enabling audio remixing on-the-go.

The 6 buttons turn on and off various audio tracks of a song, raising one arm increases the volume, and raising the other arm adjusts the audio pan.

Each button was custom built and 3D printed using ClayTools + MakerBot, and wired to an arduino sewn into an interior pocket. Each button was also rigged with an LED that lights up when the audio track is on.

Pieces of elastic coated with conductive ink is sewn into the sleeves. The resistance of each strip is mapped to audio controls in order to dynamically adjust both volume and pan.
